We knew our children's participation
this year was a success, but just how successful they were was a lovely
surprise to all of us!
Ms Anne Marie Keleher, Manager of the NSW MS Society, visited our assembly to congratulate the students on two outstanding achievements.: |
Of 1500 NSW schools participating, Neutral Bay came first (in its size category) for:
Number of books read - 1737 books
Highest percentage participation - 81 students
For each of these achievements, we received a fantastic set of reference books for our library, donated by Readers' Digest. In addition, the school received a prize of $1000 donated by the Commonwealth Bank, which was presented by Mr Peter George of the Neutral Bay branch. Fantastic effort, NBPS !
We would like to offer congratulations to six of our students who achieved outstanding individual results:
Our top three readers were:
Charisse Goode 5EC 68 books
Madeleine Perkins 3L 55 books
Hannah Humphrey 50 books
Three of our students were
invited to a special Read-a-thon presentation to recognise the Top 100
Fundraisers in NSW:
Tom Nichols 1H
Travis Cornell 6/5J
Harry Cameron 5E
The boys received their awards from the Hon. John Aquilina, Minister for Education and Training, and the President of the MS Society. Well done, boys!
Congratulations to each
and every student who participated in this worthy cause! Susan Cornell
